DeeAnn Hall, owner of Eugene City Bakery, has been a local chef, pastry chef, caterer and cooking teacher for 20 years. Most recently Executive Chef at King Estate Winery, the self taught chef has also held stints at Adam's Place and West Brothers/Mona Lizza restaurants. Originally from the San Francisco bay area, DeeAnn grew up loving the crusty sourdough breads the area is known for. When her favorite neighborhood bakery became available in 2008, she seized the chance to carry on the tradition of fine artisan bread and pastry making, as well as to expand the bakery into a friendly neighborhood café. The addition of lunch items, pizza, and take out dinner items seemed like a natural extension of the business, and has been warmly received by the neighborhood and university community. DeeAnn welcomes the opportunity to "keep it local", and to be a part of a thriving Hayward Historic District business community.

The Eugene City Bakery was opened in 1997 by Charles Koehler. He was inspired by many great artisan bakers from the Bay Area. At the time there were very few artisan bakeries in Eugene. His vision lives on...
